There is a “50-51 per cent” chance of Mesut Ozil leaving Arsenal to move to Fenerbahce, according to a Turkish journalist.

Reports in Turkey claim that Unai Emery has given Ozil the all-clear to leave the club this summer as he wants to free up his wages for other transfers.

Ozil’s inconsistent performances have not been good enough for a lot of Arsenal supporters considering his huge £350,000 a week wages.

The German only made 24 appearances last term and there has been speculation that he will move this summer, with Turkish side Fenerbahce linked.

And respected Turkish journalist Fatih Dogan claims that there is a “50-51 per cent” chance of Ozil  – who supported Fenerbahce as a child – leaving the Emirates Stadium for the Super Lig outfit.

Dogan said: “Fenerbahce president Ali Koc is working very hard to sign him.

“For his wages and loan fee, the club are trying to find the sponsors. They are working on it.

“I think it’s going very well. Right now, I can say the possibility is 50-51% positive.”.
