Ex-Tottenham striker Darren Bent has claimed current Spurs attacker Heung-Min Son would get into any team in the Premier League.

The Korean winger has been in fine form and scored a hat-trick last time out in the 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

Top ten outsiders who will decide Premier League title race

The goals at Villa Park take Son to 17 in the Premier League so far this season, a total only bettered by Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

He has linked up well with new signing Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane to build a formidable front three for Antonio Conte’s side as they look to secure a top four finish this season.

Son’s form has been that impressive that ex-Spurs man Bent now believes he would get into every Premier League team’ starting XI, including title contenders Manchester City and Liverpool.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent said: “Yes, I think he does [get into any Premier League side] now. The only exception was I always used to think would he get ahead of Sadio Mane?

“Probably a couple of seasons ago, not last season because Mane had a bit of a down year, but Heung-Min Son steps up all the time.

“He scores goals, creates goals, and can finish with either foot.

“I think on that left-hand side he would get into any Premier League team. City as well.

“He carries such a goal-threat. He’s intelligent with his movement he consistently scores goals every season. I think you would put him in there.”

Meanwhile, January signing Kulusevski has earned the praised of former Prem striker Kevin Phillips, who has been impressed with his maturity.

“He plays with such a maturity,” he told Football Insider. “You almost can’t believe he’s 21. He plays with no fear. He plays with a freedom. Out of possession, he knows his role and in possession he is fearless.

“We see that with a lot of the top youngsters these days, especially in a team that is full of confidence. Right now, Spurs are trying stuff and it’s all coming off.

“Kulusevski is an amazing player. He is already building a great relationship with [Heung-min] Son and [Harry] Kane. They are a threat for any defence in the Premier League. Kulusevski will just get better and better.

“Spurs have unearthed a gem there. He is an exciting young player with a big future in front of him, that’s for sure.”
