Man Utd make £60m offer for Liverpool target as Ten Hag ‘keeps his word’ to midfielder
Erik ten Hag has kept his promise to Aurelien Tchouameni after Manchester United made a bid for the Real Madrid midfielder, according to reports.
The Red Devils have already invested heavily into their first team this season with the arrivals of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund.
But widespread reports have claimed that Ten Hag is still looking to get deals for a midfielder and a centre-back over the line before the end of the transfer window.
Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat appears to be their top target in midfield with Man Utd preparing for the potential departures of Fred and Scott McTominay.
Fred is wanted by a number of clubs around Europe, while West Ham have had a £30m bid rejected for Scotland international McTominay.
And there are rumours that Real Madrid midfielder Tchouameni would still be Ten Hag’s ideal candidate for midfield this summer if everything aligns.

Tchouameni, who has been linked with Liverpool too, started 24 of Real’s 38 La Liga matches last season and is concerned that the arrival of Jude Bellingham could push him further down the pecking order.
And now Spanish publication Nacional claim that Man Utd have made a €70m (£60m) offer for Tchouameni with the Red Devils hoping it ‘will be enough’ to convince Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to sell.
It is understood that Ten Hag ‘contacted’ the France international ‘a few weeks ago’ and ‘promised him that he would do everything possible to get him out of Real Madrid’.
The 23-year-old ‘thanked’ the Dutchman but has ‘refused to make a decision until there was an agreement between the two clubs’.
Tchouameni could now have a decision to make with the report insisting that Man Utd have lodged an offer with Ten Hag ‘convinced’ that the Frenchman is a ‘necessary reinforcement’.
It is claimed that the former Monaco midfielder is their new ‘priority’ and ‘now it is Madrid’s turn to give an answer’ to the Red Devils.
The report adds that ‘the smartest thing to do is to sell’ Tchouameni if Ancelotti refuses to give him minutes this season with the Italian lucky to have a stacked midfield.
While the Real Madrid star ‘must also show his intentions’ to Man Utd and Ten Hag as he ‘still hasn’t made it clear if he wants to continue at Madrid, or if he prefers to move to the Premier League’.
