Kane sets Tottenham, Bayern Munich deadline to seal transfer as new offer ‘now likely’
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has set a deadline for Bayern Munich and Daniel Levy to resolve his future, according to reports.
The England international has now entered the final year of his contract at Spurs and is unlikely to renew his contract at the north London club.
That means Tottenham risk losing him for free at the end of the season with owner Joe Lewis encouraging Spurs chairman Levy to cash in if Kane refuses to sign a new deal.
Bayern submitted their third offer of the summer for the England captain on Friday and an apparent deadline of midnight was also set by the German club – but that bid was also rejected by Spurs.
Tottenham chairman Levy was reported to have met with Bayern officials last week, but the clubs remain around £25million apart in their valuation.
Friday’s bid was expected to be the final offer made by the Bundesliga champions and it remains to be seen whether or not they will continue their pursuit of Kane.

Kane ignored the noise around his future to score four goals in a 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday and now the Daily Telegraph claims that the England skipper has set a deadline for a deal to be sorted.
It is understood that Kane ‘will call time on Bayern Munich’s bid to sign him if the German club cannot agree a deal with Tottenham Hotspur this week’.
The Spurs academy product ‘is adamant he will not leave Tottenham once the new Premier League season starts and has set a deadline of the end of this week for any move to be agreed’.
Despite Bayern insisting to Spurs that it ‘was a final offer, they are considering one last bid’ with the Telegraph informed ‘that a new offer was now likely’.
Similar to Kane, Bayern Munich want ‘the deal sorted as soon as possible and before their season starts’ and the Bundesliga outfit now have ‘just five days to find an agreement’.
The Times have a similar tale with the German champions ‘considering whether to make a fourth bid’ with Bayern not ready to ‘give up their pursuit of the England forward, having rowed back from a deadline of Friday midnight to agree a deal’.
The deadline will be tight as Bayern are ‘conscious that Tottenham need to line up other deals’ as Spurs look for Kane’s replacement.
