Janssen: I left Tottenham to win trophies
Fenerbahce striker Vincent Janssen has revealed the main reason he left Tottenham was to win trophies.
The Dutchman joined Spurs for £17million from AZ Alkmaar in July 2016 but only managed two Premier League goals last season and six in all competitions.
With playing time looking increasingly limited, Janssen decided to join Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal over the summer transfer window.
The striker has already scored two goals in his first two starts for the Turkish side, including one in a derby day victory over arch-rivals Besiktas.
A signing ceremony was held at the Sukru Saracoglu stadium on Friday and Janssen revealed his reasons for moving to Fenerbahce.
“I left Tottenham to win trophies here, that is my main drive,” Janssen told reporters.
“I have never won a trophy in my career so that is my goal.
“I really want to win a trophy here, the whole team is driven for success.”
