There are slim pickings among the players available on free transfer, but Dele Alli is ‘back on the grass’ again…

Here they are, ranked according to transfermarkt valuations…

1) Ghislain Konan (Al-Nassr)
Nice work if you can get it; the Ivory Coast full-back has been handed over £2m in compensation to leave Saudi Arabia early.

2) Daniel Amartey (Besiktas)
Another contract terminated by mutual consent after a summer in which the Turkish club tried desperately to send the former Leicester man to Saudi Arabia.

3) Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco)
A 16-goal Ligue Un season did not stop Monaco allowing Ben Yedder to leave. As he is set to be tried after an alleged sexual assault, while under legal supervision for rape, we do not expect any club to give him a contract any time soon.

4) Dele (Everton)
Everton are basically trying to negotiate some sort of compromise with Tottenham over the deal which saw Dele join them as a free agent with up to £40m in clauses. He is still training with the Toffees with Sean Dyche saying he is ‘back on the grass’.

5) Leonardo Lopes (Cercle Brugge)
Peterborough, Wigan, Gillingham, Hull, Cercle Brugge, ????

6) Rafinha (Al-Arabi SC)
Brazilian international midfielder and brother of ex-Liverpool man Thiago.

7) Ryan Kent (Fenerbahce)
Former Liverpool trainee and Rangers stalwart could join Leeds United in January after being mutually consented by the Turkish club.

8) Serge Aurier (Galatasaray)
Started last season in the Nottingham Forest team and ended it on the Galatasaray bench.

9) Brandon Williams (Manchester United)
Once heralded as Man Utd’s best left-back but now somehow clubless after a poor loan at Ipswich.

10) Kofi Djidji (Torino)
Roma and West Ham are among the clubs linked with the Ivory Coast centre-half.

11) Faitout Maouassa (Club Brugge)
Former France Under-21 international left-back.

12) Merveille Bokadi (Standard Liege)
Congolese defender who has previously been linked with West Ham.

13) Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Bayern Munich)
Former Stoke legend.

14) Sergio Ramos (Sevilla)
At 38, is his career over? Will he eventually end up in Saudi Arabia?

15) Samuel Kalu (Watford)
Nigerian international winger mutually consented by the Hornets.

16) Maxi Gomez (Trabzonspor)
Once a very hot property, he joined Valencia with a release clause set over £100m. Now you can get him for nothing.

17) Ezgjan Alioski (Al Ahli)
Former Leeds United winger who spent three years in Saudi Arabia.

18) Alexander Hack (Al-Qadsiah)
Former Mainz centre-back who had a year in the Saudi Arabian equivalent of the Championship.

19) Filip Benkovic (Udinese)
Excellent on loan at Celtic from Leicester City many moons ago, which earned him a single Croatian cap.

20) Layvin Kurzawa (PSG)
Former French international full-back released by PSG after a season when he made just one appearance.
