Arsenal raise offer by £17m to ‘force’ next huge transfer after reaching ‘full agreements’ on two signings
Arsenal will increase their proposal to Real Madrid in an effort to get a deal for Aurelien Tchouameni over the line, according to reports.
The Gunners have already sealed the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea with deals for Ajax’s Jurrien Timber and West Ham’s Declan Rice set to follow soon.
But there are reports their summer spending won’t end there with Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu wanting two midfielders, a centre-back, a right-back and a forward.
Assuming Havertz is an option in attack as well as midfield and Thomas Partey leaves this summer – with heavy speculation he will be – then Arsenal are still in the market for another midfielder.
And that is the point transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has made with Arsenal looking to offload Partey before bringing in another midfielder, with Southampton’s Romeo Lavia linked.
“It’s not time for a bid yet… but they are well informed on Romeo Lavia,” Romano said on the DeBrief podcast.

“They know also Arsenal are there but for Arsenal, it depends on Thomas Partey.
“They are working on this potential exit of Partey but it’s not that easy.
“Arsenal will let Partey go in case they receive a good proposal, he’s not a player they want to sell for a normal, or cheap, fee. So this is an important point.”
And now Spanish publication Nacional insist that Arsenal are ready to ‘force’ Real Madrid into selling Tchouameni to them by raising their offer from €80m to €100m.
The France international no longer has ‘a guaranteed position’ in Real Madrid’s midfield after Jude Bellingham’s arrival at the Bernabeu and an improved offer from the Gunners would be ‘difficult to refuse’.
It is understood that ‘the answer was negative’ from Real Madrid when Arsenal put in their first bid with the Premier League club now prepared to raise their offer by €20m (£17m).
Nacional add that an offer of that size ‘will force Florentino Perez to, as minimum, rethink the situation’ as the Spaniards look for cash to ‘strengthen their center forward and right-back positions’.
In good news for Arsenal, Football Insider have claimed that the Gunners have ‘reached full agreements’ over the signings of Timber and Rice.
And it is understood that Arsenal ‘are set to complete deals’ for the duo ‘this week’ to take their spending over the £200m mark.
